Designed around the concept of the connected community, the Cocoon Estate is made up of 16 single-family homes that are programmed to face the main circulation route of the micro-community.
To draw people out of their homes and bring them together, a social space with a pool, large gazebo, and
greenery is centrally positioned and conveniently accessible to all the houses. The concept of the master plan also enforces the urban design concept proposed by Jane Jacobs by putting “eyes on the streets” as a passive security strategy. Giving visual access to all homeowners creates a safe micro-community where everyone can surveil the streets to create a safe play environment for children.
